Hey, my name is Matt and I was injured in the summer of 2004 due to a diving accident that compressed my C5-C6 vertebrate and left me paralyzed. After a week at St. Mary’s hospital in West Palm Beach Fl, I was flown to Jackson Memorial hospital in Miami Fl, for surgery. After that I was flown to the Shepard Center in Atlanta Ga, where I spent 5 months of rehabilitation just to somewhat recover doing basic minimal therapeutic activities.
After leaving the Shepard Center and moving back home to Jupiter Fl, I continued with therapy at the Jupiter Medical Center outpatient facility for 3 years, focusing on building strength and mobility again. I did not get as much improvement as I would of liked.
Then I gave CNR a shot. After just 3 months I have gained tremendous strength in my upper and lower body.
Riding the Ergys2 bike has increased my leg strength and stamina so much, and walking on the Lokomat Pro has made a big change in my body. The upper body Vortex machine has increased my arm and back strength and has now made my wheelchair easier to push everyday.
I have gained more muscle mass at CNR than I have in years post my injury. I attend CNR Monday through Friday and highly suggest it to anyone with a spinal cord injury. The staff are educated, friendly, and are all fully dedicated to helping us reach our ultimate goal of walking again.
