June 10, 2001, I was involved in a car accident that changed my life. I suffered a spinal cord injury (SCI) which left me a C5-7 quadriplegic. July 25, 2011, was a day that also changed my life, it was my first day at Center For Neuro Recovery (CNR). Being injured ten years prior to my involvement in this program, I had already been through a number of facilities that offered “traditional therapy”. I was looking for a program that offered more, a place where staff would be knowledgeable regarding my diagnosis, with appropriate equipment for treatment and could challenge me on a continuous basis. I found it all at CNR, their staff members are experts and specialized training of SCI and other neurological conditions. They have state-of-the-art equipment for treating neurological injuries/conditions and their skilled exercise professionals and use of the CAST system offers daily challenges. There is nothing traditional about what CNR offers and it is far beyond therapy.
My physical ability is being maximized, allowing me to gain core and upper body strength, improved cardio conditioning, increased function and overall wellness. None of this would be possible if not for the exercise professionals, they meet you at your level of functioning and encourage you to exceed your expectations…… no limits.Even though CNR offers exceptional services, this program will not work if you are not willing to commit to the process. It is not easy, it’s a lot of hard work. When you notice improvement in yourself along with that of other participants it’s all worth while.
CNR, a great place, with great people, doing great things!!!
